Nothing’s Phone (1) is receiving a new software update. It’s the first since the launch of the stable build of Nothing OS 1.5, which brought Android 13 to the phone (1).

The new build, which began shipping today as a 91MB over-the-air download, is labeled Nothing OS 1.5.3. It brings improvements in app loading speed and better battery life thanks to a new memory management algorithm that reduces app restart times by more than 35% and lowers CPU consumption.

You also get support for manually adding games to game mode, smoother animations, an “improved fingerprint transition between lock screen and AOD”, new wallpapers, and improved system stability. There’s also support for Nothing’s upcoming Ear (2) true wireless earphones, to be announced next week.

Bug fixes are also plentiful. Other than the general ones, fixes were found for Night Light mode abnormal appearance, glyph lights not showing for incoming WhatsApp calls, freezes when playing YouTube videos, weather data not showing in widget Quick Look and the flashing charging prompt on the AOD interface.

Thanks for the advice!
