Strava today announced a new partnership with Spotify, integrating the streaming platform within its mobile app. Now you can connect your favorite songs, playlists and podcasts to the activity platform and play music instantly without having to switch between apps.

Strava offers Spotify integration for easier music navigation during activities

A music note will appear in the Record tab, pulling suggested playlists and tracks directly from Spotify. Premium users can play favorite songs and curated playlists, while free users will hear whatever the audio app usually feeds them, including intermittent ads.

The feature will be available to all Strava users, free of charge and for a paid Summit membership, and will require a one-time connection between the two platforms. One thing Spotify Premium users will miss in the integration is the ability to listen to music and podcasts offline – Strava needs a mobile or Wi-Fi connection to keep the audio feed alive.

The revolutionary new feature that eliminates the extra step of switching between apps is expected to arrive to Android and iOS users starting today.
