Carl Pei’s Nothing company appears to be preparing for at least a couple of upcoming earphone releases. Last year the brand unveiled the Nothing ear (1) gems and now a new model is apparently on the way. Some renders have surfaces showing the Nothing ear (2) gem design.

Visual changes with respect to the ear Nothing (1) appear to be minimal. The transparent casing is still there, as is the overall aesthetic of the product. The only really noticeable change we could spot is an “ear (2)” mark on the stem of the buds instead of the Nothing logo. Unfortunately there are still no details regarding the hardware of the Nothing ear gems (2).

However, we know that Carl Pei’s company is getting closer to introducing another set of earphones: the Nothing Ear (stick), which is scheduled for October 26th. The buds have already been teased during London Fashion Week and the company has made it clear that weight will be one of the main features of the product. Tilting the scales at just 4.4 grams, Nothing Ear (stick) buds are apparently designed to be worn all day.

The Nothing Ear (stick) and the Nothing ear (2) are not to be confused, however, as they are clearly different products. The latter is probably still a bit far from an official launch. Meanwhile, Nothing recently announced a price increase on the first generation Nothing Ear (1) TWS earphones, a rather disconcerting move in the wake of their successor coming to market. We just have to wait and see how it turns out.
