Welcome to the week five recap. We published battery life tests of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+: the smaller phone achieved an impressive result – better than its predecessor – while the Plus didn’t perform as well as its predecessor. The likely expansion of this is the higher resolution QHD+ display. We also have a review of the Samsung One UI 6 and 6.1 later.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra has appeared on Geekbench. Unsurprisingly, the upcoming flagship comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 16GB of RAM and runs Android 14.
HMD has announced that it will eliminate the Nokia branding from its devices: from now on all tablets, earphones and smartphones will carry the HMD branding. Rumor has it that we might see the first HMD-only phones at MWC in Barcelona, February 26-29.

The Motorola G24 Power is official with a Helio G85 chip and a 6,000 mAh battery. On the front there is a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD display at 90 Hz. The 4/128 GB model starts at INR 8,999 ($110/€100) and will go on sale on February 7.
The Realme 12 Pro duo also announced. Both phones come with a zoom camera, but the Pro+ is the most impressive with the popular half-inch (1/2.0-inch) 64MP OV64B sensor behind a zoom camera 3x 71mm. The Realme 12 Pro+ costs INR29,999 ($360/€330 for the 8/128 GB version and is already on sale.
Finally, nothing confirmed, the phone (2a) will arrive soon. The phone (2nd) will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 7200 chipset paired with 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of storage. The Phone 2a is expected to have a pair of 50MP cameras on the back and is said to launch with a price tag between $400/€400.
The company is preparing to launch in September to coincide with Apple’s event.
