The flagship Realme GT 5 Pro is just around the corner, with an unveiling set for December 7. Realme has gone crazy with all the teasers to raise the hype around the upcoming flagship. Most recently, the company dropped a rather revealing teaser video, showing off the internals of the new Sony IMX890 50MP, 3x periscope telephoto camera and a vegan leather back panel for the phone.

A new set of teaser images is now available. One of these shows the phone to be an alternative Starry Night color with what appears to be a more traditional, non-leather back panel surface. The other teaser image reveals that the phone will be offered with up to 1TB of internal storage and will also feature USB 3.2 connectivity.

Unfortunately, the current state of USB naming is an absolute disaster, and we really wish Realme had used the new marketing-friendly name to refer to the USB connection, which would have revealed the actual speed of the data link. The poster also mentions that data transmission should be 10 times faster than a USB 2.0, so an educated guess here would be that Realme is using a 5Gbps controller, also known as USB 3.2 Gen 1×1 or USB 3.1 Gen 1 or USB 3.0. .

Looking at some of the other expected specs of the Realme GT5 Pro, we believe it will have a 6.78-inch, slightly curved AMOLED LTPO 8T display with a 144Hz refresh rate and “1.5K” resolution (probably the same 1,240 x 2,772 px of the GT5). It has a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits and a global peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Both DC dimming and 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming are available to reduce it, which can create 20,000 levels of brightness. The display also has a touch sampling rate of 2,160 Hz.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset will power the GT5 Pro, and thanks to a retailer blunder, we know the phone will cost CNY 3,500. This converts to $500/€450/₹42,000. Of course, this is without taking into account local taxes and the like.
