Motorola’s Edge series often offers great value for money, and the 2023 generations are no exception.

The Motorola Edge+ (2023) in the US comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It combines the fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with an equally fast 165Hz AMOLED display (6.67″ FHD+). It has a 50MP main camera (1/1.55″ with OIS) and an ultra wide-angle camera 50 MP (114°), plus a vertical 12 MP module (2x). All of this is powered by a 5,100mAh battery with 68W wired and 15W wireless charging. The phone is IP68 dust and water resistant to boot.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro in Europe is almost the same phone, except this one is configured with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The only other big change is that the Euro phone has a smaller 4,600mAh battery with 125W wired charging (keeps wireless at 15W).

The vanilla Motorola Edge 40 isn’t (yet) available in the US, but it’s an attractive option for Europeans. It has a 6.56-inch 144Hz OLED display (FHD+) and a Dimensity 8020. It’s also IP68 rated, and you can have a faux leather back if you like. The camera isn’t quite as capable with a 50MP main (1/1.55, OIS) and 13MP ultra wide angle (120°), no zoom lens, plus a 4,400mAh battery with 68W wired and wireless charging from 15W.

The Motorola ThinkPhone seems to be aimed more at businesses than at individuals. However, there’s nothing stopping you from getting this Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phone with a 6.6″ 144Hz (FHD+) display and 5,000mAh battery (68W wired, 15W wireless). It has a sensor 50 MP main camera (1/1.5″, OIS) and a 13 MP ultra wide angle camera (120°), as well as a 32 MP selfie camera. In addition to the IP68 rating, this is also MIL-STD-810H compliant.
