The Poco X4 GT smartphone debuted today and is now joining our queue of reviews. But first we wanted to share our first impressions of the laptop.

This device is identical to the Redmi Note 11T Pro in China – the Dimensity 8100 chipset and a 144 Hz screen are its highlights. It enters the hyper-competitive price segment under € 400, although then it will really have to impress with its performance to have a chance to have a serious impact.

Our unit is in an understated gray color. The sides are flat, which is a great feature, but the screen and back are 2.5D curved, making the phone oddly chunky in the palm of your hand. The screen itself is a 6.6-inch LCD that can run in three different refresh modes – 60Hz, 90Hz and 144Hz – there’s no 120Hz option.

We’ll dig deeper during our lengthy review to learn more about how each mode behaves in different apps. The panel has a single hole for a fairly standard 16MP camera.

We will also take our time to determine the Dimensity 8100’s performance – it is among the few phones to carry this chip and certainly the one with the widest availability among them.

The rear has two large, vertically aligned lenses for the 64MP main and 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, while the 2MP macro is shifted to the side.

We like the fact that there is a 3.5mm audio jack on top even though there are no earphones in the box; only the 67W charger and a USB cable.

We have Poco Launcher 2.0 running and the Community and Store apps pre-installed, but the About page says MIUI 13. And it’s based on Android 12 out of the box, which is nice.
