Lava’s upcoming Agni 2 smartphone now has an official launch date for India – May 16th. This was revealed today by the company itself through its official Twitter account.

The phone will only be available for purchase on Amazon. The launch event will be streamed on YouTube and Facebook at 12:00 local time.

The aforementioned tweet also shows us the handset’s massive camera island, which houses four sensors and a flash, each of these in their own circular mini-islands. Text around the edges of the main island confirms the 50MP main camera with 1/1.55″ sensor and f/1.88 aperture.

Previously leaked specs for the Agni 2 include an AMOLED screen with a built-in fingerprint sensor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and Android 13 on board. The Agni 2 will be the first phone launched in India with the new MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset and is said to cost INR 19,999.
