In addition to yesterday announcing its 13th generation Intel “Raptor Lake” desktop CPUs, Intel also introduced a new software tool designed to help your phone and PC connect, share files and manage notifications, messages and calls. Intel Unison will be supported on 13th Generation devices and some laptops with 12th Generation Intel Evo CPUs, although at present it may only work on upcoming devices.

Intel Unison offers cross-platform collaboration between Windows 11, Android, and iOS

The big problem is that Unison supports both Android and iOS, something that has never been seen before on other Windows cross-collaboration solutions like Microsoft’s Phone Link (aka Your Phone). Unison is based on technology from Screenovate, a software company acquired by Intel last year.

Intel Unison pairs with your Android / iOS phone via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and will work slightly differently depending on the connected phone. Some features will not be supported on iPhone, especially multi-party messaging. Handling of third-party notifications on Android and iOS devices varies based on app behavior. Intel Unison will arrive on PCs from Lenovo, Acer and HP by the end of the fall and on Intel’s 13th generation PCs early next year.
