Huawei is bringing its Freebuds Pro 2 wireless earphones with active noise cancellation and two MateBook laptops to the European market.
All three devices have been around on other shores, but this is their move to the west.
Huawei Freebuds Pro 2 is the company’s flagship TWS pair. Each gem has two drivers, which realize what Huawei calls a Hi-Res Dual sound system. The buds can detail the sound from 14kHz up to 48kHz.
For noise cancellation, the Freebuds Pro 2 can suppress up to 48dB, compared to their predecessor’s 40dB.
The Freebuds Pro 2, like most earphones, can pick up outside noises and counter them during calls. What Huawei has improved here is a new deep neural network algorithm that learns and adapts over time. The sound should also sound great thanks to the partnership with Devialet.

Huawei MateBook 16s is the company’s flagship laptop. It’s heavily based on last year’s Matebook 16, however this year Huawei switched to the latest 12th Gen Intel processors, instead of last year’s AMD Ryzen options. You can choose between the Core i7-12700H (with 6 performance and 8 efficient cores), or the i9-12900H (also 6 performance and 8 efficient cores, but a maximum boost of 5GHz).
The display is the same 16-inch 2520x1680px 3: 2 touchscreen panel. It supports 100% of the sRGB gamut, has a contrast ratio of 1500: 1 and up to 300 nits. The panel is calibrated with an average Delta E of less than 1.
Graphics are handled by the Intel Iris Xe, as there is no dedicated GPU. You can choose between 512GB or 1TB of NVMe PCIe storage and 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM.
The MateBook 16s has an 84 Wh battery and 135 W charger in the box.

The Huawei MateBook D16 is a notch below 16 seconds in terms of hierarchy. Its display is a more conventional 16:10, which still has a little more vertical space than the typical 16: 9 panel.
The resolution is slightly lower than 1920x1200px, but the brightness and color gamut support are the same as the MateBook 16s’ 3: 2 panel.
Rounding out the specifications of the MateBook D16, it comes with a choice of the i7-12700H or i5-12500H processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 512GB of NVMe PCIe storage.
