Huawei held a big event in Barcelona today where it unveiled the brand’s latest smart wearables: the Watch GT4 series, the Freebuds Pro 3 and Eyewear 2 wireless earphones along with a new 11.5-inch PaperMatte edition MatePad tablet with particular attention to eye care.

Huawei also announced a new version of the MatePad 11.5 with a new PaperMatte screen. The new nano-etched screen coating promises a paper-like feel with reduced reflections, less eye strain, and a more natural writing experience with the second-generation M-Pencil stylus.

The rest of the spec sheet is as before: the 11.5-inch TFT LCD display features a resolution of 1440 x 2200 px and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The tablet has a custom 4G Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. You also get a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front shooter. There is a 7,700 mAh battery with support for 22.5W charging via USB-C while the software side is covered by HarmonyOS 3.1.

The MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition is available in Space Gray and will retail for €500/£400 from September 19th.

Huawei Freebuds Pro 3

Billing itself as a direct successor to last year’s Freebuds Pro 2, the FreeBuds Pro 3 offers a dual-driver system with the promise of clearer highs and “booming bottoms.” Huawei’s latest flagship wireless earbuds also offer triple adaptive equalizer for clear sound and support for LDAC and L2HC 2.0 high-resolution audio codecs.

Huawei also offers an updated Intelligent Dynamic ANC 3.0 system with claims of even better noise cancellation and a new Pure Voice 2.0 microphone system that promises to pick up your voice even in the harshest conditions. Combined battery life is rated at 31 hours, and you also get dual-device pairing.

The Freebuds Pro 3 are priced at €200/£180 and will be available from October 11th in European markets.

The latest addition to Huawei’s wearable division are the Huawei Eyewear 2 smart glasses. These let you listen to music via the built-in speaker for up to 11 hours and come with interchangeable Zeiss prescription lenses. Eyewear 2 features a titanium frame weighing just 4.7 grams and offers touch controls on the sides.

The price is set at €300 and they will be available from October 18th.
