Huawei held a big launch event in Munich where it detailed pricing and availability details for the P60 Pro and Mate X3 in Europe, but we also received a couple of new smartwatches with the Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro.
Huawei Watch 4, Watch 4 Pro (leather band) and Watch 4 Pro (titanium band)
The Pro model offers a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with sapphire crystal and a 48mm casing made from TC4 titanium alloy that is said to be three times stronger than ordinary titanium. The regular Watch 4 comes with a 46mm stainless steel case. Both watches have Always on Display functionality and many new planetary dial options and are 5ATM water resistant.
Both watches can track over 100 exercise modes as well as the usual health tracking features. New to the Watch Series 4 is the one-minute seven-point health overview that brings together data on heart rate, SpO2, ECG, skin temperature, arterial stiffness, stress, and respiratory health in a single report.
The Watch 4 Pro also gets the added benefit of LTE connectivity via eSIM and built-in GPS. The Watch 4’s battery life is estimated at three days of typical use, while the Watch 4 Pro is expected to last up to 4.5 days. Power saving modes can extend the duration to 14 days on the Watch 4 and 21 days on the Pro.
The Huawei Watch 4 starts at €450 / £400 with its black fluoroelastomer strap. The Watch 4 Pro with the titanium strap starts at €700/£600 while the brown leather option will cost you €550/£500. The Huawei Watch 4 series will go on open sale in Europe in the coming weeks.
