Today, Honor held an event in China, focused on the foldable Magic V2, but the brand also showed off a premium tablet and eSIM smartwatch: the MagicPad 13 and Magic Watch 4.

Let’s start with the MagicPad 13. It’s the first Honor tablet to run MagicOS 7.2, and that means it’s the pioneer of Honor’s new mobile office experience. Honor Docs includes a word processing app and a note-taking app in Honor Notes.

The MagicPad 13 is available in Sky Blue, Star Gray and Moonlight, a kind of Beije color. Foreground is the slate’s highlight: a 13-inch 2880x1840px IPS LCD with a variable refresh rate that switches from 30Hz/48Hz/50Hz/60Hz/90Hz/120Hz to 144Hz. The touch sampling rate is up to 240Hz. The display is HDR10 ready with 1.07b colors and covers the DCI-P3 color gamut. Honor claims the panel has color accuracy of less than ∆E<1 and a peak brightness of 700 nits. Honor calls the display IMAX-enhanced.

Next is the audio experience. There are a total of 8 speakers and 4 microphones on the MagicPad 13. Honor claims this is the industry’s first 3D spatial audio setup that doesn’t require headphones.

Honor’s Magic Pencil 3 is designed specifically for the new MagicPad 13. It has a skin-friendly coating and a matte texture. The stylus has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and a latency of 2ms. Using the Honor Magic Pencil on the MagicPad 13, users can highlight objects and text and then copy and paste them between apps, as well as pick a color from anywhere in the user interface, which is useful for design applications.

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port is also convenient for connecting storage and can output 4k 60fps to an external monitor.
