Honor’s first foldable, the Magic V, went on sale in January 2022 and even though the design was updated with the Magic V in the second half of the year, we are still lagging behind for a proper sequel. Honor Magic V2 is said to be introduced on July 12, in three weeks.

Apparently, it will have Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 8 Gen 2 variants with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Other rumored changes include doubling the resolution on the main camera to 108MP and adding 50W wireless charging to the 5,000mAh battery (which already supported 66W wired charging on the Vs).

Details on the main display are scarce, but it appears to be upgraded to a higher refresh rate (over 90Hz) LTPO panel with high-frequency PWM dimming.

That is expected to appear in China on July 5 with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which will be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The display will be a larger 6.78″ AMOLED (up from 6.67″) and its resolution will be increased from 1080p to 1220p to balance pixel density.

Additionally, the X50 is said to have a 108MP camera on the back (with a 2MP mount), as well as a dual camera setup on the front. This phone will have a large 5,800mAh battery with relatively slow 35W charging (compared to the X40’s 5,100mAh/40W).

DCS extension it also mentions that a MagicPad tablet is expected to launch later, while the flagship hardshell Magic6 series is expected to arrive in Q1 2024.
