Today is a big day for Honor, as the company introduced the X6 to the UK market and launched a new product in China: the Play 40 Plus 5G. This new phone features a Dimensity 700 chipset, 50MP dual cameras, and a massive battery.

The Play 40 Plus has a 6.74-inch LCD display with 720p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The screen has a small teardrop notch on the top for the 5MP selfie camera. The panel technology does not allow fingerprint scanners underneath, which means the sensor is on the side, above the power key.

The main camera is paired with a 2MP depth sensor, while the selfie camera has a 5MP sensor. From the design point of view, Honor has decided to follow the double circle solution of the numerical series with overlapping rings but only on the colored versions: the black variant gets a simpler back.

The battery capacity of the Play 40 Plus is 6,000 mAh, the largest ever seen on an Honor smartphone. Charging goes up to 22.5W, which puts it on par with X-series midrangers, such as the X7 and X8. The user interface is Magic UI 6.1, based on Android 12.

The phone comes in three memory combinations, two of them with 8GB of RAM – storage is 128GB or 256GB, and there is no microSD card slot. The simpler version has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
