Introduction and specifications

The Honor Pad X9 is a cheap tablet that seems oriented more towards multimedia consumption. It has a large 11.5-inch, 5:3, 1200 x 2000 pixel display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s also an impressive six-speaker system on board.

Its battery is quite large at 7250mAh, considering the tablet’s very thin 6.9mm profile and relatively low weight of 495 grams – and it also has an aluminum back and frame.

The rest of the Pad X9’s specs are nothing to call home about. The Snapdragon 685 chipset is quite modern in terms of features but offers modest performance. Connectivity-wise, the Pad X9 has no cellular connectivity and only has Wi-Fi ac. Bluetooth 5.1 is also on board. One potential sore point for the Pad X9’s longevity is the modest amount of RAM – just 4GB. As for storage, you only get a single version: 128GB with no expandable storage.

Finally, the Pad X9 has a couple of cameras available, but neither are particularly impressive. The main camera on the back is a simple 5MP unit with autofocus, and on the front there’s another 5MP snapper, also with fixed focus.

Unboxing of the Honor Pad X9

The Honor Pad X9 ships in a nice two-piece cardboard box. It is quite sturdy and offers adequate protection during shipping. There appears to be no plastic in the box, although Honor doesn’t boast about it in any particular way.
