Honor has worked hard since becoming an independent company and is rapidly setting its path into the future. The company unveiled the Magic4 series at MWC 2022 in February, and this month we saw a more affordable phone enter the series: the Honor Magic4 Lite.

The phone, also sold as the Honor X30 in China and Honor X9 5G in other markets in Asia and the Pacific, is with us and we want to explore the first true mid-range that the company is launching on the global stage.

The triple camera design of the Magic4 Lite shares the design of the other two Huawei Mate 40 series phones with its cameras in a black ring around a circle with text inside it. There’s only one usable shooter though, a large camera with a 48MP sensor, flanked by a couple of 2MP modules for depth and macro.

Honor Magic4 Lite comes with Google services and the entire Google suite of Play Store, Maps, Gmail, Chrome and Google Search pre-installed.

Works with Android 11 skin with MagicUI 4.2.

The phone is built around a large 6.81-inch screen with minimal bezels on all sides and weighs 189 grams, which is very reasonable for the size. Only 8mm thick and helps with handling, while the buttons are all conveniently placed on the right side.

A USB-C port at the bottom, a card tray for two nano SIMs, and a speaker grill are the other items of interest. The headset is not inside the frame but is built into the top.

Honor Magic4 Lite can already be found in some stores for € 319 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It comes with a 66W charger in the box and a 4,800mAh battery, which should ensure some adequate quick recharges.

We’ll be sure to test it, along with almost every other aspect of Magic4 Lite’s performance in our review. Stay in the area!
