Apple is taking its time with the development of iOS 18, and a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that next year’s iPhone 16 generation will come with unique generative AI features that will be major selling points for new devices.
The new report doesn’t reveal any details about what these AI features will do, but we can assume that they will be similar to what Google and Samsung are doing with text-to-image generation, the ability to summarize documents, and translate content, among others . Apple is also said to be using its own LLM model to overhaul Siri.
The iPhone 16 series is not expected to feature any major hardware changes, and Apple will look to push the new AI features as key selling points for its upcoming devices. The iPhone 16 series is also expected to launch with the Apple A18 chip on all four models.
The Pro devices are said to come with a new capture button located on the right side near the power button. Other rumors point to smaller dynamic islands and a 5x optical zoom camera on the 16 Pro device.
