The so-called Super Res Zoom is undoubtedly one of the biggest upgrades offered by the Pixel 7 Pro over its predecessor. It is a combination of software, hardware and machine learning that allows for solid 30x zoom photos even if the actual telephoto zoom is limited to 5x.

To showcase the power of the so-called Super Res Zoom, Google shared a gallery of photos showing what the Pixel 7 Pro is capable of. Starting at 20x zoom and up, the phone uses a new machine learning-based upscaler, powered by from the new Tensor G2 SoC. And after 15x magnification, the laptop uses advanced zoom stabilization, so you don’t need a tripod to take long-range photos.
