Among the many announcements at this year’s I / O conference, Google detailed the new look of Android Auto coming to all users starting in late summer. The big change is that the UI will now adapt to various car screen sizes and orientations with a default split screen appearance. The goal is to provide drivers with quick and easy control over the three most used aspects of AA: maps, multimedia controls and messaging.

Google Assistant, notifications and your app library will be easily accessible on the dock, and depending on whether your car has a vertical or widescreen car screen, the dock will be located at the bottom or on the side closest to the steering wheel. The assistant will now provide suggested quick replies to conversations, including options to share estimated arrival time with your contacts.

Cars with integrated Android Auto operating system such as some of the latest models from Volvo, Ford and GMC will receive additional benefits while the car is parked. These include a web browser and the ability to watch videos on the YouTube, Tubi and Epix Now platforms on your car screen.
