OpenAI launched the ChatGPT standalone app for iOS in May and promised to bring it to Android soon. Well, two months later, OpenAI has announced that it will be releasing the ChatGPT app for Android next week.
Those interested in trying ChatGPT’s Android app can pre-register on the Google Play Store. The app will be free and will sync user history across devices, but it’s unclear which markets will get it first.

OpenAI says the ChatGPT standalone app will provide instant responses, tailored advice, creative inspiration, professional input, and learning opportunities for users. The Android app might not be identical to the iOS app, since we’re talking about two different operating systems here, so don’t expect the Siri and Shortcuts integration available on the iOS app.
