Samsung’s ever-expanding list of entry-level devices is about to get even more crowded, as the company is working on the upcoming Galaxy A05. This device leaked today, and you can check out the CAD-based renders below to see it in all its affordable glory.
The A05s measures 167.9 x 77.7 x 8.8mm according to the same source that provided us with the renders, and in that chassis will fit a 6.6-inch screen, which as you can see has a waterdrop notch (which Samsung calls “Infinity-V”). It will have a 4,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The rest of its specs remain shrouded in mystery, but obviously you shouldn’t expect anything too flashy. This laptop will be all about the price.
It has already received pre-launch approval from the FCC, which means we could see it go official in the coming weeks.
For a point of comparison, last year’s Galaxy A04s, which this model will replace, features a 6.5-inch LCD touchscreen with 720×1600 resolution at 90 Hz, Exynos 850 SoC, up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, a triple rear camera system (50MP main, 2MP macro, 2MP depth sensor), 5MP selfie and 5,000mAh battery with 15W wired charging. So the A05s significantly reduce battery capacity by increasing charging speed, in a rather strange move.
