Apple has a habit of omitting battery capacity values for its products and prefers to measure battery life in hours instead. Fortunately for us, the certification agencies still publish the actual mAh values for all products that go through their database, and now the Chinese agency 3C has listed all the new Apple Watch models that were announced last week.

Battery capacities for new Apple Watch models emerge

Apple Watch SE (40mm) has the smallest battery among the newly announced watches at 245mAh. The 44mm Watch SE takes it up to 296mAh. Apple Watch Series 8 (41mm) has a 282mAh battery while the larger 45mm version has a 308mAh cell. Watch Series 8 has an 18-hour battery life with an always-on display, automatic activity tracking and drop detection, but the optional low-power mode lets you eliminate some of the features and double them to 36 hours.

Apple Watch Ultra gets the largest battery capacity of any Apple Watch to date with its 542mAh cell. Apple claims the Watch Ultra can last up to 36 hours of normal use with an always-on display, automatic workouts, and constant heart rate. Apple is also introducing a low-power mode that will arrive later this year that is expected to extend the Ultra’s battery life to 60 hours.
