Amazon today announced the third generation of the Fire TV Cube, the company’s flagship media player. The updated model features a new design, faster processing and improved connectivity.

The new Fire TV Cube has a new design with a fabric grille covering the built-in speaker. Along with built-in microphones, the Fire TV Cube can act as an Alexa device for your home.

The new Fire TV Cube has an updated processor, which is said to be 2x more powerful than that of the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. This should improve app load times and also help speed up video playback performance in apps.

In terms of connectivity, the Fire TV Cube now also has an HDMI input for connecting your cable box, which you can then control using Alexa or the Fire TV Cube remote. The Fire TV Cube also includes the latest Wi-Fi 6E standard for more reliable wireless connectivity. There is also a USB-A port for connecting compatible webcams for video calling.

Amazon also launched the new Alexa Voice Remote Pro, with remote finder, customizable buttons and backlight.

Remote Pro has a built-in speaker that beeps to help you find it. To activate the feature, ask Alexa to find your remote. There are two customizable buttons on it so you can assign your shortcuts to your favorite Alexa apps, channels or commands. And finally, the new remote has a motion-activated backlight that glows when the remote is lifted in the dark.

The new Fire TV Cube is priced at $ 140 while the Alexa Voice Remote Pro is $ 35. Both are available for pre-order today.

Amazon also announced its new Omni QLED TV series. Includes 65-inch and 75-inch models. Both have a 4K 60Hz IPS LCD panel, Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10 + support, Dolby Atmos, local dimming up to 96 full array zones, 3 HDMI 2.0 ports and 1 HDMI 2.1 ports and are equipped with Alexa voice remote control. The TVs run on the Android-based Fire TV operating system. The 65-inch model costs $ 800 and the 75-inch model costs $ 1100.
