Samsung’s One UI skin will receive its 5.0 version with the release of Android 13 later this year. A report of Sam Mobile reveals from a source that Samsung will launch its beta version of Android 13 / One UI 5.0 in the third week of July.
The beta program will allow eligible devices, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, to download and test One UI 5.0 ahead of its general release, which is expected to officially arrive on Samsung devices in October, according to the report.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series
This year, Samsung’s timing is ahead of the previous beta cycle. A beta version of UI 4.0 was launched last year with the Galaxy S21 series in September with the official launch taking place last November. If One UI Beta 5.0 arrives in July, as reported, the October release period on the Galaxy S22 series lines up correctly.
With the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung has committed to providing all of its flagships with 5 years of updates, and timely updates appear to be part of Samsung’s commitment. The OEM has never historically been known to push timely and frequent updates, but in the past few years we have seen a lot of effort from Samsung with its S series and Z folding.
