After a year’s absence, Exynos returns to the flagship Galaxy S line. A month ago we heard that this was just the first step towards total domination: a leaker reported that all Galaxy S25 phones will use Exynos everywhere. However, a post by DigiTimes from today he contradicts it.
The report suggests that Samsung will continue with its dual strategy of using both Qualcomm and Samsung chipsets: Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Exynos 2500, in this case.
However, the information does not include details on where the dividing line will be drawn. It’s most likely going to be the same as this year with the Galaxy S25 Ultra using the Snapdragon exclusively, while the Galaxy S25 and S25+ will get the Snapdragon or Exynos, depending on where you buy them.

That rumor from a month ago also claimed that the foldable Galaxy Z series will only use Snapdragon chips, however a different report suggested that the Galaxy Z Flip6 could end up with an Exynos 2400. If that turns out to be true, it would be the first time an Exynos chip it was used in a foldable. We’ll know soon: Z Flip6, Z Fold6 (and possible Ultra and FE models) should be revealed in time for the Olympics.
And if Samsung has enough faith in the Exynos line to use it in its expensive foldable laptop (which is small, therefore hard to cool, and with a small battery), then it will certainly have enough faith in it to let the Exynos 2500 power at least the Galaxy S25 and S25+.
The Exynos 2500 is supposed to bring further optimizations and power efficiency improvements over the current 2400. Furthermore, there are other changes in store for the S25 series.
