If Google sticks to its usual schedule, and so far we’ve seen no indication that it doesn’t, then the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro should be made official at a special event in California in October.

And yet, we’ve already seen several leaks regarding the upcoming duo, though it’s still about three months away from that point. Today, a full list of the Pixel 8 Pro’s most notable specs is making the rounds, so let’s dive right in.

The most premium of Google’s 2023 flagship slab-style devices is said to sport a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz LTPO OLED display, Google Tensor G3 SoC with dedicated Titan security chip, 12GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage and 4,950 mAh battery with support for 27W wired charging.

It will obviously run Android 14 from the day it comes out and have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, as well as a new gimmick: an infrared temperature sensor, which would have been all the rage in 2020 at the height of the COVID pandemic- 19.

The rear camera system consists of three sensors, a 50MP main with OIS, a 64MP ultrawide, and a 48MP telephoto. Selfies are taken care of by an 11MP snapper, presumably. In the past it was said that the main sensor was Samsung’s ISOCELL GN2, the telephoto ISOCELL GM5 and the ultrawide Sony IMX787. A new time-of-flight (ToF) sensor should help with focusing.

You wouldn’t be alone in thinking these specs are very similar to last year’s Pixel 7 Pro, so it looks like the next iteration will be an evolution, definitely not a revolution.
