With the conquest of the galaxy as a goal, Supreme Commander takes the player into epic real-time battles on large maps with hundreds of units. Gamers will find their patience rewarded with an RTS that captures the dimensions of interplanetary warfare in a way few other games can handle. Experienced RTS players will find a lot to enjoy, even if some aspects of the game fail.

History

Supreme Commander takes place in the final days of a millennial war between three factions. They are the United Earth Federation, the Cybran Nation and the Aeon Illuminate: space fascists, revolutionary cyborgs and technologically advanced religious fanatics respectively. After a millennium of war, the Federation is slowly being pushed back on all fronts. However, his secret weapon of mass destruction, called the Black Sun, could change that.

There isn’t much more to say about the Supreme Commander’s story. He does a decent job of putting missions together. You may find yourself liking one or two characters more than others. There is also a bit of intrigue surrounding Aeon Illuminate’s internal politics.
