In case a player is new Genshin Impact, it wouldn’t have much variety and choices when it comes to weapons. Players at the start of the game should simply use whatever they can get their hands on, be it a dull blade, silver sword or any 3 * weapon. After unlocking the ‘congratulations’, they can get many gacha weapons with a rarity of 3 * and above. As a matter of fact, the higher the rarity, the better the sword. In this article, we will analyze the swords in Genshin Impact, analyze and compare them with each other, and guide players to use them in the game.

Genshin Impact Swords Guide: Role-Based Swords Analysis

Players should remember that each sword has its own purpose and uses in its own way, depending on how you plan to build the characters. Genshin Impact has a number of different characters with kits used in specific roles. Different playable characters have different purposes. For comparison, the main roles that will be highlighted are:

Team roles

  1. DPS: Short for damage per second. Your main attacker in a group will do the big damage.
  2. Support: Fairly self-explanatory. They aid your DPS by maximizing their full damage capacity with their support skills.

DPS

When choosing swords for DPS, the main priority should go in this order: Basic Attack> Substats> Passive. The higher the basic attack of the sword, the better. In terms of substats, having Crit Damage / Crit Rate is favored more than the others. Passives are always situational when choosing one as it entirely depends on which passive fits your character best in your build.

Support

For most of the supporting characters, Substats> Passive> Basic Attack is the order of priority. Unless the character is Bennett, who needs a high base attack to increase his attack buff, Supports usually don’t require a high base attack. Energy recharging is more of a priority in the sub-stat, since their elemental explosions are charged more frequently for use and as a support, their abilities lie in their elemental explosions. Elemental Mastery (EM) and HP are also of similar importance because some characters scale down.
