Bennett is a 4 * sword-wielding Pyro character in Genshin Impact. It was released in version 1.0. Players initially underestimated its strength and usefulness, but over time it has received the appreciation it always deserved and is now considered one of the best supports in the entire game.
How Bennett should be interpreted for his maximum potential
Benefits of Bennett include:
- High ATK boost
- Battery for Pyro characters
- Easy Pyro application with its skill and burst
- Cleaning debuff with its burst
- Versatile and universally useful
Any team that benefits from the ATK buff will benefit from having Bennett on the team. The only characters who don’t take advantage of him are HP scaled characters like Yelan or Nile.
As an all-purpose support, Bennet can adapt to many teams. Since it’s not the main DPS, there is no such thing as “Bennett’s best team”. However, he is an irreplaceable key member of many top-tier teams and more on that below.
Best Team Composition for Bennett in Genshin Impact
1. National team
The fulcrum of the national team
Bennett | Xiangling | Xinqiu |
Buffer / healer / battery | Sub-DPS out of scope | Enabler / Sub-DPS out of range |
National-core was found to be one of the best teams for consistently high AOE DMG, which made it easy to erase difficult content for F2P players. Chongyun, with these three, formed the original national team. Chongyun has fallen out of favor with the release of Kazuha and Raiden Shogun, who have incredible synergy with National-core.
The way National-core works is this: Xinaqiu and Xiangling can apply Hydro and Pyro while out of range with their bursts. Their bursts also have no ICDs.This allows them to constantly vaporize each shot. Bennet boosts Xiangling’s ATK and acts as a battery for her. The 4th character can be anyone who can synergize with this core.
2. Bennett in National-core variations
National Raiden
Shogun Raiden | Bennett | Xiangling | Xinqiu |
Battery / High personal DMG / Reaction to occasional overload | Buffer / healer / battery | Sub-DPS out of scope | Enabler / Sub-DPS out of range |
The most powerful variant of National-core. Raiden Shogun offers a high personal DMG and lowers ER requirements for teammates. Reload everyone’s bursts so fast you can keep swiping them for eternity.
Kazuha National
Kazuha | Bennett | Xiangling | Xinqiu |
Stacking / Elemental DMG Bonus / Enemy Resistance Tool | Buffer / healer / battery | Sub-DPS out of scope | Enabler / Sub-DPS out of range |
Another great variant of National-core. Kazuha offers much-needed stacking and increases teammates’ elemental DMG bonus, allowing them to do more DMG.
National Sucrose
Sucrose | Bennett | Xiangling | Xinqiu |
Stacking / EM share / enemy stamina shred / ATK buff via TTDS | Buffer / healer / battery | Sub-DPS out of scope | Enabler / Sub-DPS out of range |
This variant does not have Kazuha’s elemental DMG bonus, but teammates gain extra EM from Sucrose, which increases their elemental DMG reaction.
3. Bennett in Tartaglia International variations
Targalia International is Tartaglia’s best team. It is a variant of National-core where Xinaqiu is replaced by Tartaglia. Tartaglia primarily acts as an enabler for Xiangling, while still providing high personal DMG with his Riptide mechanic.
It is possible to double-spin with Kazuha, which would give the team bonus both Pyro and Hydro DMG, further increasing the team’s DMG. But it’s okay if players can’t perform the rotation perfectly, Kazuha would always infuse Pyro from Bennett’s blast. While it’s not as good as the double vortex, it’s still pretty good.
With Kazuha
Tartaglia | Bennett | Xiangling | Kazuha |
High personal Xiangling / DMG enabler | Buffer / healer / battery | Sub-DPS out of scope | Stacking / Elemental DMG Bonus / Enemy Resistance Tool |
This version of Tartaglia International is weaker than the version with Kazuha, but Saccarosio is still a fantastic buffer and a better choice than any other character.
With Sucrose
Tartaglia | Bennett | Xiangling | Sucrose |
High personal Xiangling / DMG enabler | Buffer / healer / battery | Sub-DPS out of scope | Stacking / EM share / enemy stamina shred / ATK buff via TTDS |
4. Bennett in the Raiden Hypercarry variations
The goal of the Raiden Hypercarry teams is to accumulate as many buffs as possible on Raiden and switch to his burst mode. It allows her to do a lot of DMG early, especially with the initial cut. With long-lasting buffs like those of Bennett and Kazuha, she can continue to do high DMG for the rest of her explosion duration.
With Sara
Shogun Raiden | Bennett | Will be | Kazuha / sucrose |
High battery / personal DMG | Buffer / healer / battery | Bumper | Stacking / Enemy Strength Tooling / Elemental DMG Bonus (Kazuha only) / EM share (Sucrose only) |
Sara was tailored to be the best bearing for Raiden. However, her buff duration is too short. Adding Bennet to the team increases the DMG of the initial cut (as both Bennett’s and Sara’s buffs are active) and allows her to continue doing high DMG after Sara’s short buff is over. Kazuha and Sucrose provide the same benefits discussed above.
With Fischl
Shogun Raiden | Bennett | Fischl | Kazuha / sucrose |
High battery / personal DMG | Buffer / healer / battery | Battery / Sub-DPS out of range | Stacking / Enemy Strength Tooling / Elemental DMG Bonus (Kazuha only) / EM share (Sucrose only) |
Fischl provides personal off-screen DMG via Oz and, thanks to his 4th Ascension passive, does even more DMG when Oz triggers electro-related reactions.
With Mona
Shogun Raiden | Bennett | Mona | Kazuha / sucrose |
High battery / personal DMG | Buffer / healer / battery | Bumper | Stacking / Enemy Strength Tooling / Elemental DMG Bonus (Kazuha only) / EM share (Sucrose only) |
This team is good for nuclear showcases as Mona’s blast boosts all DMGs for a short time. This buff is really significant but because it’s a one-time buff, it doesn’t benefit the rest of Raiden’s explosion duration.
5. Bennett in the Melt Ganyu variations
Melt Ganyu teams can produce high DMG but are difficult to play. Bennett is an irreplaceable member in these teams.
With Xiangling
Ganyu | Bennett | Xiangling | Zhongli |
High personal Xiangling / DMG enabler | Buffer / healer / battery | Sub-DPS out of scope | The shield provides resistance to the knockback and shred of resistance of the enemy |
This is the simplest variant of Melt Ganyu. This requires her to stay within melee range of the enemies to melt them. Xiangling’s personal DMG is also quite high. Due to Ganyu’s charged shot-dependent gameplay, Zhongli is required to allow her to operate at melee range
With Kazuha
Ganyu | Bennett | Kazuha | Zhongli |
High personal Xiangling / DMG enabler | Buffer / healer / battery | Stacking / Elemental DMG Bonus / Enemy Resistance Tool | The shield provides resistance to the knockback and shred of resistance of the enemy |
This variant provides the largest DMG numbers but is difficult to play. This team performs poorly in single-target situations compared to the previous variant and suffers from energy problems in general.
Jean del Sole
This is a rather unique duo formed by the interaction between Bennett and Jean’s outbursts. Bennett’s explosion applies Pyro to the active character and Jean applies Anemo to the active character. This causes a self-whirlwind that causes DMG to nearby enemies. This is really good for destroying elemental shields. Jean requires to be built with EM to increase the turbulence DMG.
Bennet | Jean |
Apply Pyro to the active character | Swirls the Pyro applied by Bennet |
While not exactly a full squad, Sunfire Jean can be used alongside other characters to perform additional DMGs. Below is an example of a team:
Bennett | Jean | Shogun Raiden | Xinqiu |
Apply Pyro to the active character | Swirls the Pyro applied by Bennet | Battery / due to overload and electric charge | Apply hydropower out of range |
In this team, Raiden uses Xinqiu’s off-field Hydro application to cause further reactions using the Sunfire Jean duo.
Final thoughts
There are very few teams that don’t benefit from Bennett in Genshin Impact. He is easily the best support character in the entire game due to his versatility. He can also be used as a fourth slot for any team that is missing a member.
