The free-to-play Apex Legends title has been building up steam for a while. Now, the launch of season 9 has helped the game set a new record for its concurrent players on Steam.

On Twitter, Communications Director Ryan Rigney revealed the real numbers. Apex Legends reached 304,263 concurrent players on Steam this morning. However, as of this writing, a new record has already been set. SteamDB.info lists an all-time high of 313,839 players, set seven hours ago.

Overall, this is great news for both developers and gamers. But there were some flies in the ointment. The influx of new and returning players yesterday caused some major problems with the server, and some of those problems continue to this day.

But these problems will be solved soon enough. And whether you’ve never played the game or left it a long time ago, this is a great time to dive in. The new season updates Lifeline, adds cool new weapons like the compound bow, and the developers have even added a permanent deathmatch mode called Arenas.

It’s a great time to check out these new features. And based on these numbers, you will have a lot of people to play with!
