Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Sega’s in-house development team that works primarily on the Yakuza series, has announced that it is working on a sequel to Judgment called Lost Judgment.

The original 2018 PlayStation 4 game Judgment was a spin-off of the Yakuza franchise. He saw Detective Takayuki Yagami investigate a gruesome series of murders in which victims had their eyes removed.

Announced during today’s Judgment Day livestream, the sequel Lost Judgment appears to continue the same action-based gameplay as the original.

According to series writer and director Toshihiro Nagoshi, Lost Judgment will expand Yagami’s story and see him focus on a new murder. This will involve going undercover at a local high school, allowing developers to explore more storytelling themes.

Players will also have access to new fighting styles and gameplay elements, such as new stealth and traversal options.

Lost Judgment will be released worldwide on September 24 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
