Sony is rolling out a brand new beta program for system software updates, allowing users to test new features for the next generation console.

The program is set to give beta testers a chance to try out some of the new features and options that will be introduced in the next major system update that is expected to be released later this year.

Anyone interested in signing up for the beta can do so on the official PlayStation site. Registration is currently available to anyone over the age of 18 residing in the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany and Japan.

Those who want to participate will also need a PS5 console, an active internet connection and a PlayStation Network account.

Users will also need to provide feedback to developers, allowing those in the beta to help model how certain features work.
