Xiaomi has quite a large presence at this year’s MWC conference and in addition to the global launch of the Xiaomi 13 series phones, we also have a showcase for a pair of augmented reality (AR) glasses.

Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition presented at MWC

The Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass, as they are called, is a conceptual pair of wireless smart glasses. They pair to your phone or any other device and deliver an immersive AR experience without cables and dongles. Xiaomi’s AR glasses don’t have built-in storage, so they need to be connected to a host device to work.

AR Glass boasts electrochromic lenses with immersed mode for complete immersion in virtual space and transparent mode to allow the user to see objects from their surroundings. The headset features a magnesium-lithium alloy construction with carbon fiber elements and weighs 126 grams.

Just like Meta Quest Pro, Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1 platform and supports Snapdragon Spaces XR developer platform. Xiaomi has also developed its own spatially sensing AR gesture controls for precise control and operation.

Latency on the headset is just 50ms with a paired smartphone which Xiaomi says is on par with the latency you’d expect from a traditional wired AR/VR headset.
