Xiaomi Pad 5 units of the European and global varieties are lined up to get the update to Android 12 – this starts with a limited number of users and will gradually expand. There is also a manual way to update, for the more impatient.
The Pad 5 was launched last year with Android 11 and MIUI 12.5. The new update will take it up to Android 12 and MIUI 13.1 and also includes the latest September security patch. The versions to watch out for are 13.1.1.0.SKXMIXM if you have a global drive and 13.1.2.0.SKXEUXM for European lists. The Indian version was launched this year and had the MIUI 13 ready to use.

The changelog is pretty concise, it just detects the new Android version and the security patch. MIUI 13 introduces new widgets, improves security and smart home integration, beautifies the design and more. A major update in version 13 was the introduction of a “MIUI Pad” branch, designed specifically for large screens.
By the way, the Pad 5 is just one of over two dozen Xiaomi devices set to receive MIUI 13 in the first quarter.
