The Xiaomi Civi arrived in September as a beautiful device with great selfie camera capabilities for young people. Today the company announced its successor, which is called Xiaomi Civi 1S.
The changes come down to the chipset which is now a Snapdragon 778G + and to the software in which we see the latest version of MIUI and Android. Apart from these two, everything else has remained the same, even the price.
Xiaomi has kept the 6.55-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. There is a single hole in the center for the 32MP camera.
The trio of cameras on the rear have the same 64MP f / 1.8, 8MP f / 2.2 ultrawide, and 2MP macro main modules.
The first Civi was powered by a Snapdragon 778G, so this time around the 778G + offers a slightly faster CPU. The main core is now clocked at 2.5 GHz, instead of 2.4 GHz, while the GPU, ISP and connectivity remain the same.
Xiaomi Civi 1S
The Civi 1S is a fairly light smartphone with only 166 grams and a thickness of less than 8 mm. However, this means that some features are still missing: there is no slot for a microSD card, nor a 3.5mm audio jack.
Xiaomi is shipping this phone with MIUI 13 out of the box and has Android 12 underneath. The battery is 4,500mAh with 55W fast charging, but there will be no charger in the box. However, the company will give one to those who request it at no additional cost.
The Civi 1S will sell for the same price as the Civi at launch: 2,299 CNY ($ 355) for the base 8/128 GB version, 2,599 CNY ($ 405) for the 8/256 GB upgrade, and 2,899 CNY ( $ 450) for the 12 / 256GB flagship model.
The presale has already started in China. The first Civi never came out of the internal market and it is extremely unlikely that we will see that change with the 1s.
