WhatsApp already allows you to use the same account on multiple smartphones, but now you can use two different accounts on the same smartphone if it has Android. This feature, which Telegram has had for years, has been available to WhatsApp beta users for some time, but has only now been implemented on the stable channel.

Having the ability to run two different WhatsApp accounts at the same time on the same smartphone will eliminate the need for users to carry two smartphones or use the app’s cloning feature.

WhatsApp rolls out multiple account support on Android for everyone

How to set up multiple WhatsApp accounts on the same phone?

To set up the second WhatsApp account you will (obviously) need a second phone number and a SIM card or a phone with multi-SIM or eSIM support. However, if your second SIM card is on a different device, you should still be able to set up the second WhatsApp account as long as you receive the security code to log in.

Once sorted, you can go to WhatsApp settings, click on the arrow next to your name, click “Add account” and follow the instructions.

WhatsApp says you can control privacy and notification settings for both accounts separately.

We are using the latest version of WhatsApp on our Android devices but we don’t see the option to set up a second account, which means it will be at least a week or two before this feature reaches all Android users around the world.
