Last week’s survey shows that not everyone is leaning towards the idea of foldable flips – or perhaps the idea of foldables in general – but most of those who see the Motorola Razr 2022 as one of the best options out there. Not that there are many options, that’s true, but it sure looks like it could turn some would-be buyers away from the Samsung flip.
We posted our detailed review this week. We found a lot to love about the phone, but also some downsides. Among them is the price, but the phone has just launched in the West, so it is on sale at MSRP. Black Friday and the holiday season are fast approaching, so there may be deals and discounts in the near future.
As it stands, the Razr 2022 is a € 1,200 foldable with a 144Hz OLED display that can fold down without leaving gaps. Some would like the proportions to be slimmer as the 79.8mm width is too much for some hands.
Another concern voiced in the comments was about software support: Unfortunately, Motorola hasn’t given specific details yet and doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to providing timely updates or lengthy software support. We will update you when we know more.
Motorola has moved away from the iconic Razr design for this generation. This has made the phone more in line with the modern design, however for some it has lost its identity. However, everyone can choose a different balance between “form and function”, Motorola has turned towards the latter. And in the process he turned what was an overpriced mid-range ranger into a real showpiece. Now, if only it could close the price gap to the Galaxy Z Flip4, it would definitely have a real winner on its hands.
