Poco refreshed its X-series this week, launching two models this time around: vanilla and Pro. The latter has a chipset much better suited to its Pro moniker along with a higher quality display and main image sensor.

The Poco X5 Pro is the thinnest phone in the series at 7.9mm. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 778G and launches globally at $300/€300 for a 6/128GB unit, $250/€250 if you can snag the early offer.

Weekly Poll: Poco X5 and X5 Pro

The Poco X5 sticks to the Snapdragon 695 chip used in the X4 Pro and downsizes the camera from 108MP to 48MP. As mentioned, the new Pro uses the IMX890 sensor (replacing last year’s Pro’s IMX766) and features a 10-bit display with Dolby Vision.

The vanilla X5 gets none of those things, but it costs less: the same 6/128GB memory configuration costs $250/€250 (or $200/€200 with the upfront deal). Both the X5 and X5 Pro launched in several countries earlier this week.

We should note that the Poco X5 Pro is about to launch in India with an RRP of ₹23,000 (and a promise of discounts), the first sale will be on Monday 13th February. However, the vanilla Poco X5 will not arrive.
