The last week of April was a big one, from an announcement standpoint. Oppo unveiled the K10 5G and K10 Pro in China. The K10 5G has a 6.59 inch IPS LCD with 120Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 8000 Max chipset, 64MP main camera and a 5,000mAh battery. The K10 Pro has a 6.62-inch 120Hz AMOLED, a Snapdragon 888 chip, a 50MP main camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. The two phones are offered in black and blue colors, but they are slightly different from each other. The K10 5G standard starts at CNY 1,999 (~ $ 310), while the Pro option retails for CNY 2,499 (~ $ 385)
Motorola brought the Edge 30 with a Snapdragon 778G + chipset, a 6.5-inch 144Hz OLED, high-quality stereo speakers, 50MP dual cameras, and mostly clean Android. It has a starting price of € 450 and will soon arrive in select markets in Europe, Asia, Australia, India, Latin America and the Middle East.
Vivo X80 and X80 Pro arrived in China, but the X80 Pro + was kept under wraps until the third quarter of this year. The X80 Pro is available in two versions: one powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and a Dimensity 9000. It has a 6.78-inch AMOLED E5 LTPO2 with QHD + resolution and granular refresh rate adjustments between 1Hz and 120Hz. For the main camera, the X80 Pro uses a custom 50MP 1 / 1.3 “ISOCELL GNV imager manufactured by Samsung. The phone is powered by the 4,700mAh battery which supports vivo’s brand new 80W wired fast charging. 50W wireless charging. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 option will be offered with 8GB / 256GB, 12GB / 256GB and 12GB / 512GB memory, while the Dimensity 9000 variant will only be equipped with the latter two configurations As for pricing, the X80 Pro is asking for CNY 5,499 ($ 840), CNY 5,999 ($ 915) and CNY 6,699 ($ 1,020), respectively.
The vivo X80 still packs a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC but there is no Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 option. The display is a 6.78-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED, which is not LTPO2 but is at 120Hz. The main shooter uses a 50MP 1 / 1.49 “Sony IMX866 RGBW sensor and an f / 1.75 lens with OIS. The X80 uses a slightly smaller 4,500mAh battery and lacks wireless charging, but maintains 80W wired fast charging available memory options are 8GB / 128GB, 8GB / 256GB, 12GB / 256GB and 12GB / 512GB, which cost CNY 3,699 ($ 565) respectively, CNY 3,999 ($ 610), CNY 4,399 ($ 670) and CNY 4,899 ($ 745).
