Vivo’s impending first entry into the flip-style collapsible space has been a lot in the news lately and today, thanks to the Google Play certification, the name was confirmed. Surprising absolutely no one, the phone will be called the vivo X Flip.

It makes perfect sense in vivo’s naming logic, as the X Fold is its other foldable line and the X Flip will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip4 and Oppo’s Find N2 Flip. It seems that if you want to escape the word “flip” in the name of such devices, you will have to go with Motorola, as all the others are quite Flippant.

Anyway, the vivo X Flip was recently spotted in the online Geekbench database, featuring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, paired with 12GB of RAM. A recent 3C certification revealed that it will support 44W fast charging.

According to a previous leak, the phone will come with a 6.8-inch FHD+ 120Hz internal screen, a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide and a 4,400mAh battery. It will apparently become official in China at some point in April.
