Galaxy users out there may recall Samsung’s promise to bring One UI 5 and Android 13 to the S22 line in October. The Korean giant seems to be honoring this promise, with news already arriving on S22 Ultra units in Italy that have received the coveted OTA.

The package in question has a S908BXXU2BVJA firmware version, weighs 2854.03 MB and includes the latest security patches from October 2022. This is just the icing on the proverbial cake, though, since, as you can imagine, the change log for this particular update is extremely long . You can check it out in more detail in the screenshots or at the source link. The main features are:

  • New icons
  • New call pop-up and new notification layout
  • New management for device customization (lock screen, wallpapers, new layout for widgets)
  • Productivity optimization (improved multitasking, new possibility of extracting and scanning a text, optimized Samsung Dex and Samsung Notes, connected devices)
  • Optimized routine mode
  • New Sleep mode
  • Optimization of privacy and security

Now for even better news: We expect the One UI 5 and Android 13 stable update for the S22 family of devices to start rolling out across Europe on Monday, October 24th. Only a few hours to go and it would be in line with Samsung’s original promise. By the way, industry sources claim that Samsung will also release One UI 5.0 for the Z Fold4, Z Flip4 and the Galaxy S21 family by the end of 2022. Along with the Galaxy Z Fold3, Galaxy Z Flip3, Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4. Probably the Galaxy A53 too.
