Yesterday, Ice universe reported that Samsung will use the Exynos 2400 for the Galaxy S24 series in Europe. Now a different leaker, Digital Setsunaclaims that this is not entirely true: only the Galaxy S24 and S24+ will have the Samsung-designed chip.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy in all markets, it says Setsuna. This will make the separation between the Ultra and its smaller siblings even more pronounced.

Another report from yesterday suggests that the S24 Ultra will set the base RAM and storage at 8/128GB and that the maximum storage capacity will be increased to 2TB (it is equal to 1TB for the S23 Ultra, although the minimum is 256GB, not 128GB). .

The standard S24 and S24+ are expected to finally adopt LTPO displays, but they’ll likely still be inferior to the Ultra (which is expected to hit 2,200 nits of brightness). Then there are things like a 3x camera upgrade (with a 50MP sensor) and, perhaps, faster 65W charging, which will again push the Ultra above the other two S-phones.

Returning to the Exynos 2400 for a moment, it is expected to have a 10-core CPU with a Cortex-X4, then two clusters of Cortex-A720, and finally four A520 cores. The GPU will be an Xclipse 940 developed in collaboration with AMD (presumably based on RDNA 2 technology, although RDNA 3 is already available). The GPU will have double the compute units compared to the Exynos 2200’s Xclipse 920, though. There will be other updates such as support for faster RAM and storage, new ISP, new modem and so on.
