The Motorola Razr 2022 was launched in China in August, but has not yet arrived in Western markets. Leaked images of a few weeks suggested an availability expansion is imminent and now the price may have leaked as well.

The Razr 2022 will cost more than € 1,200 in Europe, according to leakster Roland Quandt. It’s pretty steep: the base variant in China (8/128 GB) is CNY 6,000 (€ 865) while the top model (12/512 GB) is CNY 7,300 (€ 1,050). Motorola could skip the lower tier variant for the west, so this price could actually apply to the 8/256 GB model (CNY 6,500 or € 940 after a direct currency conversion).

For comparison, a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 starts at € 1,100 (8/128 GB) and goes up to € 1,280 (8/512 GB). The Huawei P50 Pocket had an MSRP of € 1,400-1,600 depending on the country, but it is an older model from last year (and apparently sold out in Europe).

The Moto Razr 2022 is much more capable than its predecessors with a real flagship chipset (Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the 2019 model had a Snapdragon 710) and much better cameras. Not to mention its large 6.7 “144Hz P-OLED display inside and modernized design without the nostalgic chin.

Even so it could prove to be a difficult sale. We still have no indication as to when Motorola will want to launch the Razr 2022 in Europe (and presumably in North America), but it should be soon.
