The launch of the new generation Asus ROG Phone series is almost upon us, it is scheduled for April 13th (this Thursday). The phone’s design had already been seen in photos from the Taiwan Wireless Authority, but now Evan Blass has found official-looking renders of the two upcoming models.
Yes, two models: Asus ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Pro. Both will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a Dimensity version is not yet known. The new Pro model borrows a feature from last year’s 6D Ultimate, the AeroAtive Portal.

The portal is a flap that opens to give the AeroActive Cooler more direct access to the chipset heatsink. As noted in our ROG 6D Ultimate review, the cooler and portal make a huge difference in sustained performance.

Only the Asus ROG Phone 7 Pro has the portal judging by these images. It’s also traditionally the only one with a secondary display on the back (the vanilla version should have some RGB lighting).
Asus is preparing a first-party case and screen protector for the phones: DEVILCASE was also available for the ROG Phone 6, as well as the screen protector.

Based on photos from Taiwan’s National Communications Commission, the ROG phones will have 6,000mAh batteries with 65W fast charging (20V at 3.25A). Rumors we’ve heard suggest that the phones will have 6.8-inch FHD+165Hz AMOLED displays and the usual 50+13+5MP cameras (the last module being a macro cam). We will have the official details on Thursday.
