The Huawei P50 series is more than a year old – the phones were released in August 2021 – but the company hasn’t given up on a new P-series flagship. According to new rumors, the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro will be launched in March this year. year and they will bring better cameras, better screens and bigger batteries.

The Huawei P60 Pro will allegedly have a 6.6-inch 120Hz OLED display, its resolution will be 1,440 x 3,200px, compared to the P50 Pro’s 1,228 x 2,700px. It will use high-frequency (1,920Hz) PWM dimming. The panel will be supplied by BOE and a 32MP selfie camera will be inserted inside.

The rear camera will feature a 50MP main sensor (a new Sony IMX888), while the ultra-wide angle will be upgraded to a 50MP sensor (possibly the 13MP IMX858). The telephoto could use the same 64MP sensor (OmniVision OV64B).

The vanilla Huawei P60 will have a different configuration. Its main camera is expected to use the 52 MP IMX789, a 1/1.35″ sensor with 1.12 µm pixels. It will be joined by a 50 MP ultra-wide angle (IMX858) and a 16 MP camera ( IMX351?).

The cameras of the two phones will be based on the XMAGE internal imaging system. The variable aperture we saw on the P50 Pro will make an appearance on both phones, according to rumors.

The same information claims that the P60 Pro will be powered by a 4G version of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a 5,500mAh battery with 100W and 50W wired charging. For comparison, the P50 Pro had a Snapdragon 888 4G and a 4,360mAh battery with 66W/50W charging.

The Huawei P50 series is expected to adopt some features of the Mate 50 series such as Kunlun tempered glass for the screen (the phones will also have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance). They are also expected to support satellite communication, although they will use the BeiDou constellation and may have limited support outside of China (as is the case with the Mate 50 phones).

Huawei has yet to set an official date or even confirm the arrival of the P60 series, but if the March target is correct, we should start seeing official information soon.
