Right now, you’ll read “Telegram is free forever. No ads. No subscription fees.” but that text will be replaced with “Telegram provides free unlimited cloud storage for chat and media.” This is a clear indication that a subscription-based plan is in the works and will likely be introduced very soon.
The developer himself sheds light on some of the exclusive features that Telegram will offer to its paid accounts. In addition to a star badge that will appear next to your name in chat lists, the app will give you access to exclusive stickers and reactions. The cost of the subscription remains a mystery, but we have a feeling that we will know soon.
