With the announcement of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 and W5 + Gen 1 mobile chipsets, it was also noted that both Oppo and Mobvoi would be the first brands to release smartwatches that pack the new SoC inside.

Mobvoi joins the announcement with its next generation wearable TicWatch teaser. He confirms the news with an image of his upcoming wearable device, which is likely to be a successor to the TicWatch Pro series given the look of its bezel and the shape of the watch case.

The next-generation TicWatch will include the latest version, the Snapdragon W5 + platform, which offers longer battery life with just one change, making it the most powerful smartwatch in the series to date. Additionally, the powerful Snapdragon W5 + platform application processor and ultra-low-power coprocessor will enable Mobvoi to deliver a smartwatch with ultra-fast performance and connectivity.

The smartwatch will be powered by Wear OS, although it hasn’t been revealed which version of the platform. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 will launch with One UI Watch 4.5 based on Wear OS 3.5.

We have yet to know the Mobvoi release date for the next TicWatch, but the timing of its teasers could indicate that the smartwatch could be launched in the coming weeks.
