Samsung’s foldables have definitely fallen behind when it comes to camera capabilities, but last year’s models made dramatic improvements and gave fans hope they could start catching up. Now we get the first details on the camera configurations of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 and it’s good news and bad news.
Second informant Yogesh Brar, the Galaxy Z Fold5 will offer the same 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto cameras as the Galaxy Z Fold4. Z Flip5 will also retain the dual 12MP cameras with wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses. This is the not particularly promising part.
The good news is that the phones will come with new camera sensors, which should lead to better image quality. It’s unclear whether all or just some of the sensors will be updated, but we have little doubt we’ll know more in the months leading up to the announcement.
The report also mentions an improved hinge design, larger external displays, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for Galaxy.
