Sony’s mid-ranger Xperia 10 IV was announced last May and released in June, so we naturally expect the Xperia 10 V to take its place in the coming months. Today, a traditionally reputable source leaked a number of high-quality CAD-based renderings of the upcoming model.

If you were expecting a fresh new design over the 2022 model, you will be quite disappointed. The Xperia 10 V shown in these images has exactly the same design language as the Xperia 10 IV, right down to the placement of the buttons, the size and shape of the camera island, and the placement of the LED flash.

The dimensions are also eerily similar, though not identical. The Xperia 10 V measures 153.3 x 68.4 x 8.5mm, while the Xperia 10 IV came in at 153 x 67 x 8.3mm. So the new one has gained some fat on all sides. The 2023 model retains the top and bottom bezels from the 2015 era, no water drop notches or drilling are allowed.

The big news for the 10V is presumably that it will be the first in the 10-series to feature stereo speakers. Yes, indeed, not even the 10 IV can boast of such an achievement. Its display is said to be “about 6.1 inches diagonally,” which is a wee bit larger than its predecessor’s 6-inch panel, and could also explain the increase in minute size.
